And Now… Let’s Eat!

“Timing is Everything. And when you are ready for it, it will come.”–Goodvibe.co

I found that quote on the internet, and all of our lives are such a true reflection of that. Timing is everything!

I started this journey for pursuing my dream of being a Food Network host 1o years ago. I was selected to compete on  the Next Food Network Star season 5 and although I tried my best, in the end, I did not win. So many fans reached out to say how sorry they felt for me because I lost. I would thank them for their kind words, but in my mind, I always knew this was not going to be the end for me. Just because I did not win then, did not mean I would not ultimately win in the end.

So I pressed on. I studied; worked on my craft; got better and more comfortable in front of the camera; and most importantly, I got to know the real me. It took me a minute, but I finally realized how to be the best version of myself and to embrace this process rather than trying to avoid it. These past few years gave me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes, set a clear vision for my goals, and confidently pursue my Plan A to succeed.

So now here we are…I am a living testimony that hard work, believing in yourself,

and God’s perfect timing can and will bring your dreams into  reality. I am proud to say that I am officially a host on Food Network! I am blessed to be a part of this amazing show that surrounds me with some awesome friends and a super supportive team. I think audiences will love it because it is genuine, it offers great food, good times, and a lot of laughs in only 30 minutes. And best of all you can catch it anytime on the Food Network app. Think of it as having Chef Jamika with you on the go 24/7!
