Double Dipped Chocolate Strawberries

Serves 4-6

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 6 ounces white chocolate (chips or chopped pieces
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate (chips or chopped pieces)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper

Wash and thoroughly dry strawberries. Prepare a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper.

Melt the white chocolate in the microwave according to package directions or on the stovetop using a double boiler. ( Double boiler is melting chocolate in a heat resistant bowl placed over a pot of warm water.) Continuously stir chocolate until melted and smooth.

Hold strawberry by stem and dip 3/4 of strawberry into white chocolate. Give strawberry a little twist to shake off any excess, then hold strawberry end up to make sure chocolate adheres to strawberry.
Gently rest on prepared baking sheet to let dry. Place in the freezer for 3-5 minutes for a quick dry.

In a separate bowl, melt dark chocolate following the same process above. Dip 1/4 of strawberry in dark chocolate creating a half and half dipped pattern. Place back on baking sheet to dry.
Using a spoon, drizzle any remaining chocolate on top of strawberries. Serve the same day.
